Terms of Service

Effective date: April 4, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ScoutExtract API and related services ("Service") operated by RamLabs ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

ScoutExtract is an AI-powered document extraction API. You submit documents (text, PDF, or image) and receive structured JSON data in return.

2. Account & API Keys

  • You must provide a valid email address to register.
  • You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential.
  • Each API key is bound to a single account and may not be shared.

    • 3. Acceptable Use

    You may use the Service for any lawful purpose. You may not:

  • Submit documents containing illegal content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, attack, or disrupt the Service
  • Resell API access without written permission
  • Exceed published rate limits or circumvent usage controls
  • Use the Service to build a competing extraction product

    • 4. Data Handling

  • Documents you submit are processed in-memory and are not stored beyond the duration of the extraction request.
  • We do not train AI models on your documents.
  • Extraction results are returned to you and not retained by us.
  • We store your email address and API usage metrics for billing and support purposes.

    • 5. Pricing & Billing

  • A free tier (100 extractions/month) is available at no cost.
  • Paid plans are billed monthly through our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy.
  • You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time via the billing portal.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact hello@ramlabs.dev.

    • 6. Usage Limits

    Each plan has a monthly extraction limit and per-minute rate limit. Exceeding the rate limit returns HTTP 429. Exceeding your monthly quota will block further extractions until the next billing cycle.

    7. Availability & Support

  • We aim for high availability but do not guarantee a specific uptime SLA.

    • 8. Limitation of Liability

    The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, RamLabs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

    9. Termination

  • You may delete your account and revoke your API key at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.

    • 10. Changes to Terms

    We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the email on your account. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

    11. Governing Law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States.
