Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how RamLabs ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the ScoutExtract API and related services ("Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account information:

Email address (provided at registration)

API key identifier and prefix

Usage information:

Number of extraction requests per day/month

Request timestamps and response times

Plan tier and billing status

2. Information We Process but Do Not Store

Documents you submit (text, PDF, or image) are processed in-memory to perform extraction and are not stored, logged, or retained after the response is returned. We do not use your documents to train AI models.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the Service

To enforce usage limits and rate limits

To process billing through our payment provider

To send important service notifications (outages, term changes)

To respond to support requests

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active.

Usage metrics are retained for up to 12 months for billing and analytics.

Documents are not retained — they are processed in-memory only.

When you delete your account, we remove your email and API key records within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You may at any time:

Access your account data via the dashboard or API (GET /v1/keys/me)

Delete your account and API key (DELETE /v1/keys/me)

Export your usage data by contacting hello@ramlabs.dev

Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Cookies

The ScoutExtract dashboard uses minimal cookies for session management only. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

8. Security

We protect your data with:

HTTPS/TLS encryption for all API traffic

Hashed API keys (only the prefix is stored in plaintext)

Rate limiting and abuse detection

Regular security reviews

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by anyone under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the email on your account.
